In the Paebaek ceremony, the bride and groom dress in stunning hanbok, the traditional Korean attire known for its vibrant colors and elegant design. One of the most fun moments of the Paebaek is when the bride and groom, surrounded by their loved ones, perform the throwing of nuts. The parents toss a handful of dates and chestnuts at the bride, who must catch them in her hanbok. The act is a playful yet symbolic gesture: it is believed that the number of nuts the bride catches represents the number of children the couple will have.
